Meeting With Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Rural Development & Communications Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar.
A delegation from AP Chambers, led by President Mr. Potluri Bhaskara Rao, met Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Rural Development & Communications Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar on 26 May 2025 at his residence. During the meeting, the delegation presented key suggestions aimed at strengthening rural development, industrial growth, and telecom infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh. AP Chambers requested the Union government to introduce a MSE employment scheme on the lines of MNREGA for rural industries, set up rural skill development centres, National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD & PR) office, defence and aerospace clusters, and commodity boards for mango, banana and palm oil in the State. The Chambers also requested improvement in telecom network coverage in rural areas. The Hon’ble Minister appreciated the efforts of AP Chambers and assured his support for viable initiatives. Adopting Circular Economy Concept in Andhra Pradesh
AP Chambers President Mr. Potluri Bhaskara Rao participated in the two-day workshop (22 & 23 May 2025) on ‘Adopting Circular Economy Concept in Andhra Pradesh’ organised by the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board. Mr. Bhaskara Rao spoke on the ‘Enablers for Circular Economy Policy’. He gave many insights and submitted key enabling points aimed at drafting an effective Circular Economy Policy framework. Officials from various departments and NITI Aayog, manufacturers, scientists, bankers, and around 150 attendees participated in the workshop.

A delegation from AP Chambers led by its President Mr. Potluri Bhaskara Rao called on NTR District Collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha at his office in Vijayawada on 06 May 2025. The delegation discussed several suggestions for the overall development of Vijayawada and NTR district and submitted a representation to the Collector. AP Chambers requested the government to develop Vijayawada city as a brand to attract tourists. The Chambers gave many suggestions for the development of infrastructure, green cover, and weekend destinations to attract tourists. The Chambers also gave recommendations for the industrial development of the district.

AP Chambers President Mr. Potluri Bhaskara Rao met the CEO of CGTMSE Mr. Manish Sinha at the International Conference on “New Gen Techade for Sustainable Enterprises” organised by ALEAP on 07 March 2025 in Vijayawada. Mr. Bhaskara Rao had a brief discussion about the MSE requirements and sought the support of CGTMSE. Mr. Manish Sinha mentioned that only Rs. 6,800 crore of Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme (CGS) was availed by MSEs from Andhra Pradesh, which is very low compared with other states. He expressed interest in associating with AP Chambers to create awareness about CGS among MSEs in the State.

The Hamriyah Free Zone is one of the largest and fastest-growing Industrial Free Zones located in the Emirate of Sharjah, UAE. AP Maritime Board organised a \"Stakeholder Consultation: Andhra Pradesh’s Maritime, Logistics, and Infrastructure Development - Vision 2047\" meeting on 04 March 2025 in Vijayawada. AP Chambers President Mr. Potluri Bhaskara Rao, Past President Mr. G. Sambasiva Rao, Mr. Velagapudi Sambasiva Rao and Mr. Tarun Kakani participated in the meeting. Mr. Bhaskara Rao suggested bringing down the logistics costs, and development of infrastructure connecting industrial corridors, ports, and airports. Mr. G. Sambasiva Rao highlighted the issues at Visakhapatnam port and suggested measures to improve the functioning of ports. Mr. V. Sambasiva Rao spoke about the higher costs of shipping chillies from Visakhapatnam port. Mr. Tarun Kakani mentioned the need for the completion of Inland Waterways No.4, which can help in reducing transportation costs of cement and other material.

AP Chambers organized an introductory meeting for women entrepreneurs at Guntur on 25th February, Sunday to form a \"women\'s wing Chapter” in Central Zone. Our President Sri Bhaskara Rao garu chaired the meeting. AP Chambers’ Board member Mrs. Sakku Madhavi Latha, MD, Sakku group has taken lead, invited the women entrepreneurs for the briefing session. The main motive of the Wing is to create a platform for women entrepreneurs from Guntur and neighbouring districts, empower and make them part of the economic development of the State. Around 40 enthusiastic women entrepreneurs and professionals participated in the meeting and shown interest to be part of the Chambers and womens wing.

One of our members Mr. Subhakar Rao and his wife Mrs. Hemamalini, Champions Yacht Club Group, personally hosted dinner for AP Chambers’ Dubai delegation on their luxury Yacht at Dubai Harbour on 21 February. They came down from Bangalore to Dubai to personally host the delegation. The delegation spent 2 hours on the Yacht in the sea and enjoyed cocktails and dinner. It was a fantastic experience for our members. Champions Yacht Club Group are into luxurious cruises, adventure sports, development of lagoons, etc.

Around 5,500 exhibitors from 180 countries set up stalls at the Expo. Some of our members also set up their stalls. The delegation participated in a breakfast meeting with Dubai Chambers on 20 February. Mr. K. Lakshminarayana, Convenor – Hyderabad, coordinated the programme events and Mr. K. Vijay Mohan, Holiday World, organised the trip.

AP Chambers in association with EEPC India organised a “Capacity Building Seminar on Export Procedures & Documentation” on 17th November, 2022 at AP Chambers Hall, M.G. Road, Vijayawada. Speakers and experts from EEPC India and NSE spoke in detail about the various export promotion schemes, export processes and documentation, export incentives, and fund raising for SMEs through equity. A large number of exporters and entrepreneurs participated in the seminar.

AP Chambers organised an outreach programme at Eluru on Nov. 11, 2022, with entrepreneurs from Eluru region. President Mr. Pydah Krishna Prasad, President-elect Mr. Potluri Bhaskara Rao, General Secretary Mr. B. Raja Sekhar, Treasurer CA Akkaiah Naidu, Director Mr. Ambica Prasad interacted with the entrepreneurs and explained to them the benefits of being a member of the Chambers. Many entrepreneurs and industry associations evinced interest in enrolling as members. The event was hosted by Mr. Ambica Prasad. The Chambers has planned similar outreach programmes at different locations in the next 2 to 3 months.
